Experience history at every turn at one of the nation's greatest treasures. There's more to see and do than ever before, from tailored tours to new exhibitions.
Amazing on the inside. If you're an atheist and don't want to be giving cash to the religion, the entrance fee goes to maintaining it as a historical site. The guided tours are fun and are worth it.
Beautiful expensive ticket
magnifica catadral gotica!
Beautiful architecture... And Constantine the Great was crowned emperor nearby! Awesome place for history buffs!
One of the most beautiful gothic cathedrals in the world. The best way to appreciate it is to come to Mass or Choral Evensong - just ask the guides for times.
Magnificent and hard to capture in one shot.
Lovely Minster, but there's better out there.
So much beautiful history here. Impossible to fit in one shot. Enjoy :)
Great minster, huge and well preserved! Perfect for people interested in history
A must-see when in York. Beautifully preserved and guided tours are really informative and entertaining.
Even if you aren't religious check out the evensong. Spine tingling music for free.
Beautiful but ridiculously expensive, £15 for tower and church!!!!
Uma das mais belas catedrais góticas de UK. Vale muito a pena esperar pela visita guiada grátis, de uma hora, que é oferecida durante todo o dia.
Admission is valid for 12 months.
Undercroft refurb is well worth a visit and is included in general admission. Great views from the top of the tower (up 280+ steps) although it's an extra £5 on the standard admission price.
If you can take the tour. There's one every 30 mins just ahead the entrance.
Can recommend visiting the tower, but be ready for lots or steps, not for the asthmatics !

โบถส์นี้สวยมาก ดีมาก ต้องมา และที่สำคัญต้องขึ้น Tower ด้วยนะ จะสุดมาก!
Dress warm, it gets very chilly, particularly in winter!
The Police Roll of Honour Trust Board of Trustees were here for National Police Memorial Day 2012. The Minster is incredible and an amazing setting for our national tribute to our fallen.
Go on one of the night tours - well worth it to see the bits that are normally closed. Go for the earlier trip if you want to hear Big Peter ring.
The tour with Mike was excellent.
Coming to visit the city but want to stay out in the countryside .Take a look at
Visit the 'A book fit for a King' exhibition at the Old Palace (12p-4p, until 30 Nov) and turn the pages of an original 1611 King James Bible. Admission is free with your Minster admission ticket!
Saved £18 by 2 of us not going in :-)
After the Minster, check out the church next door - St Michael le Belfrey - built originally as a chapel for the Minster builders. It's free entry and still a functioning church - lovely atmosphere.
Now available on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays! Book a special tour of the Glass Conservation Studio at Bedern Chapel for a close-up view of medieval stained glass under restoration.
Great place to be
£9 to go in, ouch!
The tour (with David) was worth having for some background on the architecture and the idiosyncrasies of the minster. Look out for the recent bosses on the ceiling, including one of Neil Armstrong!
If you are visiting on a Wednesday or Friday, look into booking a special tour of the Glass Conservation Studio at Bedern Chapel for a close-up view of mediaeval stained glass under restoration.
Go at around 5pm and listen to the ball ringers practicing
Don't climb the tower - opt for Clifford's tower instead! You want a view with the Minster, right?
For the best views over York, climb the Minster Tower. Costs a few pounds - and you need to be in shape for the climb - but well worth it.
If you live in or near York, you can get a Minster card which gets you free entry. Alternatively you can believe in God and go to a service.
