See Merida and the rest of the Yucatan Peninsula from the POV of someone who lives there... someone who wasn't born there, doesn't really speak the language, doesn't understand the culture or know the history... but is curious and rather knowledgeable about all of it!

"Yucatan used to be a very popular place for its music at the turn of the 20th Century. Looking around here is like traveling back in time... nothing is in English, though. So bring your dictionary!"

"This Banamex-sponsored museum often has great folk art from other parts of Mexico. And a really good (but pricey) gift shop."

"Excellent hospital. MANY of the doctors speak English and have their offices upstairs. If you are sick or in an emergency, a good place to go. First rate care at low prices."
