Taipei, Taiwan314 Tips
One of the best restaurants in the city year in and year out.
This is from the same group that owns Danny & Company. The burgers are ground up right before grilling and are excellent. There are free chili and melted cheese at the condiment station for the fries.
The donuts have not transplanted well from Portland.
Lots of mostly inoffensive but not-so-tasty food for not a lot of money in a "nice" restaurant.
The new location is nicer, yes, but it has lost a lot of its former charm. Now it feels like any other bar in Dongqu.
The decor is lovely but the food is not. The servers are eager to help but seem very amateurish.
Not the worst pizza you can get.
Not a serious cocktail place, despite what the bartender might try to tell you. The house wine is decent.
Typically terrible Taipei burger, like you'd get at most restaurants around the city.
Terrible bun-to-beef ratio (way too much bread) and dry, over cooked patty.
It's like a smaller, crappier 啜飲室. The servers are clueless and the beer board offers zero guidance. Their own brews are subpar.
Unless you are completely out of shape, don't take this cable car up. There's zero view inside what is essentially a closed elevator. The climb up isn't that bad at all.
Quite a boring mall. There are some bars on the rooftop.
It's Hainanese chicken rice, and not a particularly good rendition of it. The chicken is too dry and flavorless and the chicken rice was lacking in chicken-y goodness.
