For such a lovely hotel, the hair dryers are big fat fail. Bring your own.
Lesli BenefieldAugust 6, 2019At least I get SPG points, I guess? Basic cable doesn't work in rooms, visible stains all over the place, lobby bar and restaurant was stifling hot (not to mention mediocre and overpriced).
2nd Stay here now. Free Wifi for Starwood members. Small rooms but hotel and rooms have a great feel.
Rooms are very small plus the air-con system struggles. Sleeping above the covers is inevitable if you prefer not to have a sweaty sleep.
RobertJune 26, 20124th floor eastern rooms (by the spa) are within an earshot of an employee service door that slams closed 20+ times in the 6am hour. No sleep.

Eva DiazMay 8, 2013The couches in the main lobby are visibly dirty and torn. Rooms are like a shoe box and our view was of a construction in the alley way. We also paid over 500. So not worth it!!

Rooms are small but cozy (no upgrades for SPG Gold). Wi-fi signal is horrible and constantly loggs off. Expected more from a W Hotel...
Ahhhhh..... The comfy beds are a much needed oasis between monster NYC nights.
They won't let you buy a drink at Whiskey Blue and take it into the W living room. Annoying.
Jason Baughman-OpricăMay 20, 2018So this was a W hotel, but is now a boutique hotel called the Maxwell. It hasn’t found its niche yet - and is a little mediocre to be an SPG property. A little disappointed.
Don't use the iPhone app if you ever want to get room service.
Stay on the 18th floor if possible - there is usually an elevator waiting which saves a lot of time.
Priceline 4 Star bid in Midtown. I paid $150 plus I got upgraded.
