Great modern art downstairs - check it out before you run through the bowls and chairs exhibits upstairs!

The multimedia show by Moment Factory is definitely a must-see (entertaining, yet educational)! Also, the temporary exhibits are very well designed (the current one on Marco Polo is no exception!).
Went to see the Grec exhibition: from agamemnon to Alexander the Great and it was AMAZING. A little too crowded during the weekend a week day would leave you more time.

Occupies a lot of space with only 2 permanent exhibitions and IMAX. There's reciprocity between Canadian and US museums so if you are a member of Smithsonian, you get a nice discount.

Fascinating exhibits in a really cool structure
Make sure to stop at the Insectarium! Cool exhibits, and a nice break from the heat if you're visiting in the summer. Bring a bottle of water along; food/drink is hard to find and overpriced.
Sculpture garden is over. It was only a passing exhibit back in 2013. 😓
