Straddling Central Park, Columbia, & Central Harlem lies the perfect escape from other overrun parks nearby. Well maintained with a waterfall and duck pond with turtles & geese. Crowded on holidays.
This is a gorgeous park. However, it can be a bit shady if you are alone at night. People around here constantly warn you not to walk through the park at night, but I have never had a bad experience.
First in a series of narrow, linear parks north of Central Park in Manhattan; once sketchy, now pleasantly leafy. Busy @ weekends. A very steep shortcut between ColumbiaUniversity and Harlem proper.
