Sauna Treatment

Our Sauna Treatment Is a Unique Spa Experience At Asian Health Massage & Spa.

This pampering treatment involves lying down on a table under steaming hot showers in sauna conditions. The masseuse applies a exfoliating body scrub on the skin with pappermint salt, brown sugar, or sea salt. This scrub cleanses deep into the pores, removing dead skin cells and leaving the skin supple and smooth.

If You Choose the Special Package, the Masseuse Will Ask Whether You Would Like Your Sauna Treatment Before Or After the Massage.

There are perks to both. A sauna before the massage will allow the muscles to relax in the heat before they are worked out. This is especially recommended if you have tense muscles. A sauna after the massage cleanses the body of excess oils. This is a great option if you have somewhere special to go after your massage and you want to feel confidently fresh and clean.

Massage Techniques

You can either request certain massage techniques, or, depending on whether you wanted a softer or stronger massage, the masseuse will choose the most appropriate option. Here is a little more about our techniques:

Swedish Massage

The most well-known type of massage. The masseuse applies hot oil and kneads the muscles with her hands. A versatile technique, a Swedish massage can be soft or strong depending on your preference. It is commonly used to relieve muscle tension and soothe injuries.

Hot Stone

The use of heated stones to warm up tense muscles. The technique involves massaging muscles with the stones as an extension of the masseuse's fingers and leaving the stones on the spine to improve energy flow. This is a softer massage on the muscles, involving heat instead of pressure.

Reflexology

The application of pressure on the hands, feet, and head. Also known as zone therapy, reflexology theorizes that these areas are reflex points of the body, linked to other organs and glands. Reflexology may reduce depression or anxiety and enhance relaxation and sleep.

Deep Tissue

A stronger variation of the Swedish massage. A deep tissue massage focuses pressure into connective tissues using strong, deliberate strokes. It is used to treat chronic tension and help with muscle injuries and back sprains.

Thai Massage

The technique of passive stretching. Somewhat like yoga, Thai massage involves stretching along the body's energy lines to promote flexibility and balance the energy system. The masseuse will stretch the body into different positions and apply gentle pressure to the body's energy lines. Thai massage is meant to heal the body physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Shiatsu

Translates to "finger pressure" in Japanese. Based on the same principles as acupuncture, shiatsu is a massage with fingers, thumbs, and palms on certain points of the body called meridians to improve the flow of qi.
