Joel C. • October 17, 2013A hidden gem in the Castro, the sandwiches here are amazing. My faves are the Shaking Beef and Roasted Chicken. Be sure to get a Watermelon Litchi or Avocado Shake to complete the meal. Cheap too!

Laura C. • November 17, 2011The place to go for local, organic, and sustainable snacks and groceries. Produce here is always fresh and there are lots of samples offered. They cater and have a seasonal deli with a changing menu.
Natalie B. • June 26, 2021The AvoSmash is soooo good! This is a hidden, local gem in SF. Just order ahead to avoid waiting.
Jonathan W. • March 13, 2017SF at last has some incredible Cuban food. Cuban sandwich, croquetas, and empanadas are all the best you'll find in the city. You can't go wrong. Their whole aesthetic is also 🔥
Will B. • October 18, 2013It's hard to tell from the outside but this place makes great sandwiches and has some of the friendliest staff in the city. You can tell they care about what they serve. Neighborhood gem.
Ami H. • October 8, 2019Original lomito (with pork loin) sandwich is substantial and makes a delicious, shareable snack. Great layers of bright flavor and texture.
Jp M. • June 22, 2016Love this place! My favorites are the Twin Peaks and Herb Tribute. Staff are quick and friendly. Perfectly toasted and really tasty bread.
Daniel L. • January 12, 2012Try one of the more creative gourmet bagels OR chow down on a delicious breakfast sandwich!
Joanne P. • April 9, 2019Devil’s Egg sandwich changed after move to Valencia St :( Replaced brioche bun w/ kaiser roll and removed bacon (can add back for $2) and pickles. Used to be so good. Now mediocre, maybe subpar 💔
SFist • December 8, 2014Some great banh mi at this Mission St spot. Try out the classic pork filled version or the staggeringly-filled fried chicken. The nice selection of local beers doesn’t hurt things either.
Cam_in_Bris • January 28Buzzing local cafe with a fabulous selection of house-made pastries and sandwiches. Lots of seating indoors and out. Coffee is strong and consistent (illy). A great corner for people watching.
Ellen M. • November 2, 2015Totally delicious. One of the few places in the city you'll find Tasty Kakes and Utz chips. Some of the best Phillys I've had in the Bay. Get that garlic mayo, you'll be very happy!
Ian W. • October 2, 2016The fresh juices are amazing and very reasonably priced. The "seven seas" is my favorite, carrot, apple, beet, ginger and lemon -- very tasty.
Scott Z. • April 17, 2011Amazing quality and cheap sandwiches in Castro. Grab and go then eat outside across the street.
Shagun A. • January 31, 2015Just had the Turkish coffee... it's like a cortado but with strong flavors of cardamom. Love this neighborhood coffee house- it's unpretentious and locally owned
Serious Eats • October 26, 2011Go for challah. With plain, sesame, poppy, and cinnamon, there is a loaf here to meet all your challah needs. Also great is the fruit bread, like double raisin, organic fig and cherry chocolate.
