asegay • March 29, 2012Great hiking trails with friends and family. The weather is warming up so this is a great place to hike & chat. There are many trail to choose from which make it more fun. Just minutes away from ASU.
Jessi S. • November 13, 2013If you are looking for a relaxing hike, filled with beautiful sites to see, this is the right trail! But, make sure to allot at least three hours if you plan to go all the way to the top.
Kelly N. • February 13, 2013I went hiking here with my boyfriend & dog & it was quite an adventure! It's tucked away & a change of pace compared to Camelback. It was pretty busy on a Saturday morning, but try a weekday.
Brian B. • August 2, 2019There are many hiking trails in the South Mountain area and they don't have much elevation gain. Perfect for families and desert scenery. Bring LOTS OF WATER and be mindful of the heat.
Jenn A. • October 29, 2014this trail never seems to get any easier, but it's very fun and worth it to get up before sunrise and head to the top. the switch backs are the best in Ahwatukee!
M T. • March 19, 2016First half of the trail is a solid hike. The second half... You better bring gloves and real hiking shoes. It's extreme. Hands and knees climbing. Great views along the way.
ryan t. • November 15, 2013Great hiking spot. There are multiple different level hiking trails. There are beautiful landscapes. I recommend the Cholla trail to beginner hikers.
Tommi G. • August 5, 2013Great place to watch the sunset! It perfectly overlooks downtown and the distant mountain ranges! Great way to see those beautiful Arizona sunsets!
🌵Andrew K. • April 20, 2015Off the beaten path trail entrance that delivers a much better than expected experience. Mostly rocky trail and fairly rigorous from the get go. Great way to get to Hidden Valley and Fat Man's Pass.
Valerie H. • March 23, 2015Great hike! So beautiful... go all the way to the top the 360 view is worth it!!
Erin C. • April 12, 2011This is the perfect hike. It takes about an hour and 15 minutes to go up and down. There is a bench at the top to relax with an amazing view. Just make sure you go before May or it is too hot.
Jim L. • May 20, 2015The wildflower season rebounded a bit, but with unseasonably reasonable weather, great place to see everything. Keep your eyes and feet on the trails. A teddy-bear cholla is not fun to hug..
Andy M. • June 27, 2014Just a wonderful hike. Right amount of hard parts and a wonderful reward at the end.
Anthony D. • August 31, 2016A great place to hike and or bike. Alone, with friends or a date, an all around beautiful natural area within such a large city.
asegay • March 28, 2012Need a gateway from the streets and traffic lights? Come to the Peak to enjoy nature on a nice day. Perhaps try using the restroom before going on your hike and of course bring WATER!
Nicole B. • January 17, 2013Very nice trail! Hard the first half mile then not too bad to the top unless you continue on with the entire 3.5 mile part of it. Love it
