Though it's outside of DC's own "Little Ethiopia", Ethiopic has established itself as the place to go for traditional Ethiopian fare in a trendy and friendly atmosphere. [Eater 38 Member]

Some of the area’s best vegetarian eating can be found here. The easiest way to sample the vegetable stews and sautés is to share a generously heaped platter on a round of injera.

More upscale than many of its Ethiopian counterparts, this is the place to experience spicy, long-cooked stews, the veggie sampler and the sizzling theatrics of meat-and-onion stir-fries called tibs.

Located at the end of the still-developing H Street, Ethiopic turns out an authentic if slightly more upscale than your usual version of Ethiopian cuisine. [Eater 38 Member] Read more

Great place for Ethiopian outside the U St. area. A little fancier/pricier than most Ethiopian places, but always fantastic. Both vegetarian & meat dishes are equally delicious.

Amazing atmosphere, great for groups. Injera is delicious! And get the Doro Key Wat and Fosolia. Fosolia might be the best vegetarian dish I've ever had #justafoodie

Ethiopian restaurants aren’t unusual in DC, but this is the place to experience spicy, long-cooked stews and the sizzling theatrics of the meat-and-onion stir-fries called tibs.

A little nicer than average Ethiopian places but also a little pricier. Lamb tibs are excellent.

Ethiopic, named after an ancient East African language, serves up an array of fiery wots, meaty tibs & rich & raw kitfos, all spread out on those spongy masses of injera flatbread. Read more

If you like spicy, go with the beef tibs and miser wot. The veggie sampler is a lot of food -- I liked some, but not all ... collard greens were good, too.
