People tend to check in during these times:
Not a fan that the main station space is closed on weekends but there are benches and heat lamps. HEAVY freight traffic runs through here so use the underground walkway to cross the tracks.
Time to kill? Visit some of the local shops that lines the streets around the station. My favorite was the magic shop!!
Need a train? Here they are.
One of my most favorite UP-W Line stations, and rightfully so. There's so much to do in the immediate area!
How awesome! A lending library!
Ticket booth lady is rude.
Ticket booth lady is awful. Very unhelpful.
Ticket agents are painfully slow
Union Pacific / West (Elburn to/from Chicago) Full Time Schedule is here:
The small private owned coffee shop on the corner, by the garage, is amazing!
Pilot Pete's coffee shop opened in station ....
Ticket booth women have nasty attitudes.
The ticket lady can get pretty grumpy...
Got some time to kill waiting for the train? Check out Gem Comics across the street (on the inbound side)
SBT bank across the street has the best service of any bank in elmhurst
The new coffeeshop across the street from the train station is great. (south side of the tracks).
Electronic payboxes are smart, and will reject Canadian coins!
The new electronic payboxes are SLOW and cause long lines... arrive earlier than usual or you will miss your train!
Parking pay boxes are now (1/14/10) located next to the bldg. Credit cards are now accepted! Cash is still ok, but the machine does NOT make change.
Some late morning trains depart from the "wrong" track, look for signage.
