This museum is recommended for the whole family. Your kids will definitely have fun, enjoy all the exhibits, live shows and presentations, and learn many important facts and information.
Becoming a member includes admission to the Page Museum at the La Brea Tar Pits, First Fridays and special exhibits like the Pavilion of Wings!
Cafe is overpriced for fairly inedible pre-packaged food. I mean, really, a PBJ with crusts you can't bite through?
Get the patron level membership. You get to skip the line up front and gets you into the butterfly exhibit even when it's sold out. This membership also includes membership to over 300 museums
Come during the week before lunch to avoid screaming school kids and wailing babies. Grab lunch at the cafe downstairs.

Go see the Ostrich exhibit in the hall if African Mammals... Worst presentation of science that I've ever witnessed. Almost as bad as The Inquisition.

If you haven't been back since the additions and renovations have been completed, you owe it to yourself (and your family) to go back - you won't be disappointed.
Mammal Halls, Dinosaur Hall, Hall of Gemstones and Minerals, California History Hall and the Avian Exhibit! Overall one of my top favorite museums.
The hall of animals is interesting. Outside there are ice cream vendors but they will scatter when the police come.
