- Nasi lemak ($4). Enjoyed it @ Annie’s Halal Cuisine #01-73. Aromatic rice. Sweet chilli paste. Egg was neatly fried, with a soft yolk. Fried chicken wing tasty too. Fried ikan bilis has been gutted
- Fried chicken rice (Malay style). Mat Noh & Rose Authentic Ginger Fried Chicken Rice #01-27 was best! Meat evenly cooked. Soup full of essence. Rice fragrant. Add $1 fried chicken skin for delight!

- Wantan mee. Enjoyed the preparation from Golden Roast #01-81. Prepared by an elderly couple, their char siew (BBQ pork) slices were well caramelised. Wantans were tasty & fragrant 👍🏼 Plenty of vege
- Vegetarian options for bfast: chwee kueh, vegetarian beehoon, fried carrot cake, mi chiam kueh (local pancake), yam cake, chee cheong fun, beancurd, fruits, yu tiao, banana fritters, Nonya kueh
- Chendol. New dessert contender Nyonya Chendol Blk 93 #01-17 serves refreshing bowls of chendol. Opens daily. Chendol colour was closer to pandan extract. Aromatic gula melaka syrup
- Economy rice (‘caifan’). The elderly chef at Cuisine Teochew Porridge Rice #01-53 prepares small batches of homestyle dishes, including common Teochew family ones. This plate $4.50
- Hainanese curry rice: Fancy eating this 4 bfast? Curry Rice #01-13 operates 7am-11am only. Plenty of fans flock to & eat around d stall. Q typically long but moves fast. Typical menu, curry is light
- Char kway teow (fried flat rice noodles). Chuan Kee #01-41 has long queues during lunch time. Cook fries each plate individually, on very hot wok fire. Not the sweet wet style but generous ingredients
- Fried oyster omelette (or chien). Whampoa Traditional Fried Oyster #01-40 fries the omelette crispy. Smallest order $6 had only 2 oysters. Wish the chilli sauce could be more tangy and less thick
- Dragon of Whampoa. Find this mythical beast at the base of Blk 85 Whampoa Drv, abt 5 mins walk from this mkt/food ctr. The 4m form was built in the 70s as a fountain feature
- Chicken rice: Nan Xiang #01-21 @ Blk 90 is a good alternative if u don't want to queue or walk over to Blk 91 for Loy Kee. Generous portions, skin was springy
- Edric TingApril 27, 2013Highly recommend Block 91 (morning market) Traditional Handmade Yong Tau Foo inner a little (along same stretch as the Prawn Noodles). Kopi/Teh is cheaper beside this. Nearby a banjiankuay shop
- Lor mee. Enjoyed the gravy from Uncle Sim Traditional Lor Mee #01-64. Substantial shredded fish meat. Help yourself to all the condiments & garnishing you want including chilli & vinegar
- Hainanese curry rice - pork chop set ($4). Fragrant gravy from Hock Gooi #01-47. Stewed cabbage was tender. Pork chop was not crispy. Fried egg was overcooked, so the yolk had hardened
- Cheap & good nasi lemak can be found at Hi Leskmi Nasi Lemak (#01-24).
- Affordable festive plants. During CNY period, open area next to carpark turns into florists' wholesale showcase. We saved 30% compared to Far East Flora for the same plants. More $ left for gambling!
- Mee Siam. The gravy is light from Robert Mee Siam #01-43. Needed to add their chilli sauce & more limes to add flavour. $3 for this plate
- Egg tart. Surprised to find Qinde Egg Tart & Pastries #01-42. Theirs is the crumbly, layered pastry style, with burnt top layer. Decent

- Teochew kueh: Tanglin Halt A1 #01-34 sells fried carrot cake (w lotsa garlic). However, look closer & u will find "soon kueh" & "png kueh". Ask 4 them 2 b fried lightly if u want them warmed up :-)
- Two stalls selling good Hokkien Prawn Mee. Tell the uncles you're bringing the food to Bangkok and they'll pack it nicely for you!
- Fish porridge: Hoover Fish Porridge #01-56 is d plc 4 ur fix of fresh fish slices served in a soupy bowl of bee hoon, mee sua or porridge. Q moves quite fast. If u pref fried ver, go 2 Lai Lai #01-16
- Rojak: There r 2 stalls: d famous Hoover Rojak (#01-06) & Mun Theng Fang #01-87. We always order fr d latter cos' we can taste d freshly-shaved bamboo shoots. Plus it's run by an old couple ;-)
- Derrick HuangJune 17, 2012One my favourite local hawker but since aft the revamp, much the nice hawker had stopped. Especially in the past the nasi lemak uncle who sell in the night with no license, the chicken is the best.
- This bowl was for S$5/= add but chilli padi and soup tasted superbly wonderful but given very little or just enough for my appetite
- I am yet to find food that really give me the blink in my eyes when food in to my mouth. So far the BBQ chicken wings are fantastic

- Fried carrot cake: Whampoa Carrot Cake #01-06 prepares d tastier of d 2 stalls selling this dish. But not as good as places like Upp Boon Keng ;-) Plus cook is a jolly fella :-D
- holy! the ah pek at huat heng fried oyster takes his time, but that means he fries till he is happy. and if he is happy, u eat also happy! juicy oysters, yummy egg and flour wow!
- Kopi: 2 of the better kopi stalls r 0103 Coffee Stall #01-03, & Bee Guan #01-23. Brews r stronger & more fragrant. & none of that tepid sour aftertaste
- Duck rice/porridge. Family felt it wasn't worth long queueing time @ 粱照记 Duck Porridge & Duck Rice #01-07. Yam rice had no yam; porridge unevenly cooked. While duck meat was good, sauce was starchy
- Duck rice, Rabiah muslim food, Laksmi nasi lemak, char kway teow, and Singapore hokkien noodle is my favourite stall of all time.
- Braised duck rice. Tender meat from 赞记 Ducks Blk 93 #01-22. Rice undercooked though. Enjoyed their chilli sauce mix but soup not herbal enough
- Economy rice. Decent range of dishes & tastes from Zan Ji Mixed Veg Rice 01-67. No specific dish stood out
- Lor mee. For $3 only there's lots of ingredients, gravy doesn't turn watery and you can add all the vinegar, chilli and minced garlic you want.
- Satay bee-hoon: 4get abt d other stalls (all w/o queues). Head straight 2 Liang Liang Cooked Food (shifted to #01-74). U get d real deal here.
- Curry chicken with rice/bread. 61 Curry Chicken #01-61simmers their curry until the chicken meat falls off the bone. Curry was thick & spicy
- Satay beehoon. Liang Liang Cooked #01-34 serves the better satay bee hoon at this food centre. Satay sauce was more aromatic
