- Chai tow kway. Unlike Lian He #01-30 which binds dish with a layer of omelette, Hock Soon #01-18 is more traditional style: chunky, slightly burnt, lots of chai por (chopped fermented radish). Nice!
- 2 thumbs up for a new kid on the block. Fishball noodles from Tom's City Zoom #01-11. Generous portions of fishballs, fish cakes, & vegetables. Handmade fishballs are odd-shaped but chewy
- Beef hor fun from Hin Fried Beef Hor Fun 01-56. The "wok hei" (smokiness from stir frying) comes from the masterful tossing by the chef. If beef is not your thing, they also offer prawns & sliced fish
- Char kway teow (fried flat rice noodles). Stall with longest queue, Guan Kee 01-19, only opens 4 days a week (Tue, Wed, Fri & Sat). CKT has a lot of "wok hei" — chef is absorbed in frying each plate

- If craving for reasonable Viet Thai beef noodles, go for #01-72. Tasty beef soup, 8 meatballs & noodles for $4.90. Good mee siam/rebus at Warung Idaman #01-39.
- Mi chiam kueh (local peanut pancake). Granny's Pancake #01-24 is pricey (80-cents per piece, compared to 50- to 60-cents elsewhere). Peanut filling fresh & generous
- Baos. Keng Kee Dian Xin #01-66 serves decent baos like those with char siew or lotus seed paste filling (80-cents). Sells fan choy & mai kai (steamed glutinous rice w char siew or chicken) too $2

- Wantan Mee. Sea City #01-43 serves a yummy bowl of WTM. Noodles are springy 'q'. Wantans are generous sizes.
- TingJune 14, 2014Unless u r willing to queue, else there is no way you can ever taste the hugely popular char Kway teow. Duck rice, heaven's Indian curry dosai, hor fun are other good options.
- Duck noodle/rice. Wished the duck meat slices from Chuan Kee #01-04 were thicker. Still enjoyable. Herbal soup was the real deal, medicinal
- Dry snacks. Looks like the neighbourhood enjoys snacking. Spotted at least 2 stalls in the market offering all kinds of sweet & savoury local snacks
- Chai tau kuey (fried carrot cake): My 1st bite brought me back 2 my childhood. D wok-fried fragrance fr stall #01-30 was so addictive dat my kids hijacked my dish! Generous amt of chai por too!

- guan kee char kway teow, char siew rice from jiu jiang shao la, ghim moh chwee kueh, tadpole burbur chacha from golden swallow desserts - they are some of the best in their own leagues!
- Ah Bo Ling (glutinous rice ball dessert): #01-43 serves w peanut soup. Family voted dat Maxwell Rd Mkt was more delicious & fragrant. Still makes gr8 snack when u dun want any of savoury fare here
- Hokkien Fried Prawn Mee 01-07 is generous with ingredients otherwise. Lots of egg. Very wet style. No fried pork lard cubes (la pok) though
- Good kopi from V.O. Mohamed Kassim. Order the Kopi-O Gao (thick black coffee). Probably the only stall at Ghim Moh market where their coffee doesn't smell stale
- Absolutely love the mee hoon kuay and tee kah chor from 101 home made noodle shop!! One of the best, asides from my mum's cooking!! Am always coming back for it although am no longer living nearby!

- POSB ATMs. Besides the popular ones next to Blk 19, there are 2 more located at the next block 21, along the way to Giant supermarket
- Soy sauce chicken noodle. The meat from Lucky Poh Hong #01-22 was lightly braised & lacks a stronger aroma. Average bowl
- Jiu jiang shao la cha siu roast pork roast duck is one of the best in sg. Must try: Hock soon carrot cake, tong fong fatt hainanese chicken rice, guan kee char kuay teow, jwee kuay

- Possibly the best chwee kueh in Singapore here. Am also a regular at the nasi lemak store, which sells great breakfast bee hoon.
- Old time resident tip #1: try chuan kee boneless braised duck rice facing blk 19. Long queues at times but worth the wait! Extra tip - try weekends. The young chap inside is more experienced!
- I ONLY EAT THE CHWEE KUEH HERE!! The lard-infused chai por cooked over the charcoal flame 😍😍😍😍

- Even with 2 multi-storey carpark, and a few open air options, there are very limited car park space around this popular hawker center.
- Chwee kueh (steamed rice cakes): If u r a fan of Tiong Bahru's, u will find d famous #01-31 a tad too soft & soggy. And very little toppings (& salty!)
- Get yr drinks from Tat Seng Coffee Stall. The lady boss here provides restaurant level service: she even said "thanks for patronising" in Mandarin and the drinks are cheap too! ^.^
