Our hot entree & carving board section offers you freshly roasted & grilled meats (like pork loin, leg of lamb, roast beef, glazed duck legs, & rotisserie chickens) as well as hearty sides (like potatoes au gratin, creamed spinach, pastas & risottos) ready to serve for yourself, your family, or a dinner party. Our grilled & roasted meats are carved to order, so you can take a slice or the whole roast!

Agata & Valentina’s pizzas & focaccias are made from scratch by hand every morning by our skilled pizzaiolo, Caesar. Baked in our traditional stone pizza oven, they can easily be confused w/ the best you’ll find in Italy.

Savory imported olives, caviar, foie gras, pâtés, mousses, & anything else the sophisticated palate may crave is available at our Appetizing & Smoked Fish counter. Our experts there will help you find everything you need for stylish entertaining.

We hand slice smoked salmon in many varieties including Scottish, Irish, Norwegian, Icelandic, Western Nova, Eastern Gaspé, as well as our own Gravlax, which we cure in-house.

If you are thirsty or will be in the future, we suggest you visit our colorful beverage case. Your refreshment is our goal, & we think we’ve got the best & most unique beverages out there!

We are extremely proud of our bread department – it is small, yet mighty! Our fresh breads & rolls are made by the finest artisan bakers in the city, & arrive in small deliveries every morning. We’re happy to slice any whole loaf upon your request.

Our skilled butchers are absolutely dedicated to the craft of meat cutting. We do not bring in any pre-cut product, but rather butcher our own steaks, chops, filets, etc. from primal cuts ourselves on-premises. We offer full scale butcher services, & are happy (even excited) to custom cut to your specifications.

We source genuine, dry-aged Prime Beef, Organic Poultry, & Berkshire Pork, as well as Grass-Fed & Organic Beef from top local & national producers.

Our fabulous team of butchers makes our fresh sausages, including hot & sweet Italian, Ragusana, lamb, veal, fresh turkey, & chicken varieties, from scratch behind the counter every day.

Our marinated, ready-to-cook meats are delicious, & ever so convenient as well.

We wanted to incorporate the best of Italy into Agata & Valentina, so of course we had to have a traditional, full-service Italian cappuccino bar in the store. A beloved niche since the day we opened, the caffèe is bustling around the clock. In the morning, we move like lightening, serving our famous coffee & espresso drinks w/ delicious home-made breakfast items. In the afternoon & evening, stop by for a pressed panino, homemade pastry, or choose from a well-curated selection of our hot & cold prepared foods. We offer tables & seating, should you wish to enjoy your meal or cup of coffee in this peaceful oasis amidst the store’s energetic buzz.

A cheese lover's mecca, our Cheese department is the definition of abundance, w/ more than 350 cheeses to choose from! Our well-curated display includes a vast array of local, domestic, & international artisanal cheeses, as well as our own handmade fresh mozzarella, which you can see us making every half-hour right behind the counter.

Our selection of chocolate & specialty candies has been curated to present the best the world has to offer. You can be sure that anything you choose will excite, delight, & satisfy.

We’ve got some of the best-quality beans in the city! One of our customers recently admitted to us that she lives downtown & travels all the way to 79th street every Saturday to get her hands on Agata & Valentina French Roast coffee beans, which, she told us, are better & more addictive than chocolate. We think the same can be said about any of our fantastic roasts & blends.

We source the highest quality milks, yogurts, butters, & more to fill our dairy display. Take a look, & explore our world of local, grass-fed milks & yogurts, rare sheep’s & goat’s milk products, an abundance of specialty & flavored butters, & even a special whipped cream from Italy!

Our Deli & Salumeria is absolutely packed w/ artisanal salumi & charcuterie. We have an excellent & almost endless selection of imported Italian specialties like Prosciutto, including Prosciutto di Parma & San Daniele, Speck, Bresaola, Mortadella, & innumerable varieties of Salami. Our Italian selection is complemented by excellent deli favorites (both hot & cold) like homemade roast beef, fresh roasted turkey breast, porchetta, pastrami, brockwurst, knackwurst, kielbasa, andouille, merguez, chorizo, & more.

One of the most vibrant departments in the store, our Fish Market buzzes w/ activity all day as our fishmongers hand-cut & display a colorful array of pristine whole fish such as Red Snapper, Brook Trout, Branzino, Sea Bass, Arctic Char, & other seasonal selections fresh from the market that morning.

Agata & Valentina's Fish Market also boasts an abundant shellfish selection, including cockles, manila clams, local bay scallops (when in season), head-on Hawaiian shrimp, & 3 to 5 varieties of oysters every day. House made crab cakes, tuna burgers, fresh shrimp salad, & more prepared items are available for take-away at our Fish Market’s prepared foods case.

We are pleased to work directly w/ many local fishermen & small suppliers, many of whom can be found fishing near Montauk, at the far tip of Long Island. Throughout the year, we regularly have local, seasonal specialties such as black bass, striped bass, monkfish, lemon sole, & others taken from the fishing boat directly to Agata & Valentina. Just ask our fish mongers what’s local on any given day!

Our pastry chef, Eileen, was trained in the top pastry kitchen in Sicily & brought superb gelato- & sorbet-making skills back w/ her. Agata’s Italian family & friends say that ours is just as good (if not better) than the gelati & sorbetti you find in Italy. One taste & you’ll be hooked!

Agata & Valentina’s gelati & sorbetti are made in our kitchen in small batches from the finest natural ingredients. The results are vibrant, fresh, rich, & sometimes fruity w/ a delightfully smooth, creamy consistency.

Pints of our house-made sorbetti can be found in our freezer case. Our gelato is currently only available by the scoop in our Cappuccino Bar, but an expanded selection will soon be available by the pint as well.

Our lines of jams, preserves, & honeys rise above & beyond the status quo. They project the true, flavorful essence of their fine ingredients & unique terroir.

Our vast selection of wholesome nuts, dried fruit, & granolas has something to tempt everyone. You’ll notice that every single one of our olive oils & vinegars is packaged under our Agata & Valentina private label. This is because we travel (and taste) far & wide to source the absolute best oils & vinegars from Sicily, Italy, & the world at large. We take great pride in our selections because we believe they epitomize the extremely high level of quality that the Agata & Valentina name stands for.

Pantry items are not the most glamorous components of your epicurean arsenal, but they are the shelf-stable work horses of any well stocked kitchen. We at A&V are well aware of their importance, & do our best to bring you products that will make your pantry (and your palate) proud.

Agata & Valentina carries only the best dry pastas imported from Italy. We carefully taste every potential new occupant of our shelves, & only grant placement to the most exceptional.

When you visit Agata & Valentina, you will inevitably stroll by our fresh pasta department. There, you’ll most likely see one of our pasta makers rolling out homemade egg pasta dough, hanging it to dry on traditional bamboo dowels, & cutting it into various shapes, including spaghetti, linguine, papardelle, & even lasagna sheets. This is how the best fresh pasta is made in Italy, & this is how we do it here, w/ no short-cuts & great ingredients.

We offer our fresh pastas in a wide variety of flavors – plain semolina, whole wheat, spinach, tomato, porcini mushroom, saffron & pepper, meyer lemon (when in season), squid ink & more…. If you don’t see the flavor of pasta you’d like in the exact cut you’d like (spaghetti, linguine, tagliatelle, papardelle, chitarra, etc.), just ask (with a little advance notice if possible), & we’ll be happy to cut whatever dough you’d like into whichever shape you prefer. Please note: All of our fresh pastas are made w/ eggs.

Every single item you see displayed at the Pastry counter has been made by hand in our open kitchen. You don’t have to take our word for it, just pass by our enclave of busily working pastry chefs, & you will be convinced by the seductive aromas emanating from the ovens.

Our highly talented & capable pastry chefs can fulfill every one of your needs, from tiny, scrumptious pistachio jam cookies & handmade chocolate truffles, to cupcakes, cheesecakes, & mousses, to gorgeous birthday & wedding cakes!

These sicilian classics, made w/ sweetened ricotta cream piped into a delicate pastry shell, are beloved by all. Available plain or coated in dark chocolate.

These portion-sized "tartufi," or truffle cakes, are enrobed in silky chocolate ganache & decorated w/ delicate almond paste flowers. The tartufi are available in our pastry department in two flavors: cioccolato & nocciola: moist chocolate cake layered w/ hazelnut cream surrounding a tart candied cherry at the center. ricotta & cioccolato: ricotta cheesecake scented w/ orange zest in a chocolate ganache shell

Our house-made fruit tarts are the fresh, colorful jewels of the pastry display, & are available in large & mini- sizes. Whether you go big & beautiful or tiny & tasty, these tarts will delight the masses at a party, add glamour to a cozy at-home evening, & elevate your next picnic to Victorian heights.

Our pistachio jam cookies are the jewels of our cookie selection. Each one of these delicious bites consists of a nutty/sweet/slightly salty pistachio cookie surrounding a filling made w/ one of our own organic Sicilian fruit jams (usually raspberry or apricot). If you try one, you will find that they are dangerously addictive.

We introduced our Red Velvet cupcakes a few months ago to rave reviews. The combination of tender, moist, deep red, buttermilk-y, subtly cocoa-y cake & dense cream-cheese-y frosting kind of defies precise description, you know? However you experience Red Velvet, we think you’ll agree that it’s one of the wonders of the pastry world.

Our millefoglie (which translates to “a thousand leaves”) is an example of divine simplicity. Minimally sweetened whipped cream & fresh strawberries are sandwiched between layer upon layer of airy puff pastry, to create a gorgeous, sophisticated dessert that is light as air.

What would life be without rice, beans & grains? These products represent the bounty of the earth, & must be celebrated as an integral part of any meal.

In our Sushi Department, we use only the freshest, highest quality fish brought in from the market each morning. Our selection is replenished all day long by our masterful sushi chefs, who work right in front of your eyes from morning until night. If you are looking for something you can’t find on our Sushi Menu, we are very happy to create custom maki, nigiri, & sashimi combinations upon request.
