Coney Island is a thriving, year-round entertainment destination full of fun things to do, both historic and brand new.
Be sure to take a ride on Deno's Wonder Wheel. This ferris wheel shoots you up 150ft in the air, giving you a spectacular view of the entire park.
Coney Island was explored by Henry Hudson in 1609; he landed on Manhattan the next day.
Today, I was here to open Coney Island for the summer and unveil the historic B&B Carousel after a six year restoration:

Date Night Is... a face full of Nathan's famous hot dogs, a wander along the boardwalk, and then a blanket under a palm tree (plastic, of course).

Ride the Wonder Wheel and try to spot sharks in the ocean
Take a break from the concrete jungle at this much improved beach and interesting boardwalk. Get a Nathan's Hot Dog, Shoot the Freak, down a beer or just walk. It's our favorite nearby escape.

Ride your bike down Ocean Parkway from Prospect Park to Coney Island. Marvel at the destruction of a once vibrant area.
Although it might seem like this place has seen its best years, its still a great spot! Especially in summer season the place literally lights up: you can see brilliant fireworks here on Friday night!
don't go to the beach there..too crowded and dirty..the park is fun tho.. :)
Find the photobooth near the Wonder Wheel. It's a newer booth but the photos are real prints!
Amazing place! Perfect 4 relax, pause!
Don't use the bathrooms
The infamous lost city of Beer Island can still be seen in the mist after some Tuesday Cyclones home games.

Take the D train down here on a sunny summer day!
Ask the museum staff to show you the film of Topsy's electrocution.
Exit the F train at w.8th and hit the beach across from the NY aquarium. Fewer people, more calm than across from Luna Park
The movie Requiem for a Dream (2000) was predominately filmed in Coney Island and Brighton Beach.
Coney Island is looking better. It has new rides at Luna Park & cheap baseball games at the home of the Cyclones. The beach/ boardwalk are still a work in progress but I love the Aquarium.
Shoot the FREAK!
It was GREAT! I LOVE the Beach and the Sand! Relax and Enjoy while you can.

One of those rare are the places in NYC where you can let your pup sink their paws in the sand while taking in the ocean breeze throughout the year. Treat him to a Nathan's famous hot dogs after!
