aleks b. • June 15, 2013Great Hike with a lot of elevation gain very quickly. Technically closed so be here between midnight and 2 am to avoid the guard.
Hawaii Vacation Rentals with Aloha Family • June 13, 2012An amazing workout taking this trail from beginning to end. There are extensive barriers of exposed roots that jut out from just about every square inch of terrain: narrow, wide, steep or level.
Pelin G. • September 9, 2017Amazing trail! It makes you feel like you're in a scene from Jurassic Park or Lost 😊
Brian • May 1, 2017Not a long hike. Park in the neighborhoods just before you get to the restaurant and trail areas to save $5. Hike can be tricky / slippery at times, so be careful.
PureWow • May 31, 2016Known as the stairway to heaven, this steep hiking trail along Ko’olau Mountain is probably the most scenic climb in the entire country. (Though it’s technically closed to the public.)
Ashley S. • May 14, 2018What a trek! Very muddy and a little hard to follow the trail but keep an eye out for the pink markers. Def worth it once you get to the falls
[Princess] • November 2, 2013Challenging trail with all of the mud, slippery rocks and lots of twisted roots. Wear proper shoes to prevent ankle sprains!
Michelle A. • September 20, 2016If it's rained the day before be prepared for a VERY muddy trail! We only took water shoes with us for this! The falls are cool, though, and you can climb up the rocks and jump into the pool.
Ju L. • December 16, 2018Approximately one hour to the falls and one hour back. It’s definitely worth it! Take a bathing suit! The rock pool is cold but really refreshing! Trail is muddy but ok.
Mike S. • June 30, 2020It’s a nice quiet forest retreat and trails Galore to explore
Dena E. • August 21, 2012This trail is most definitely much longer than a mile. Exercise caution if bringing the little ones. Rocky, rooty, and slippery a lot of the way.
Jessica M. • March 18, 2014This trail can get pretty muddy and slippery. It also gets narrow with shrubbery to pass through so I recommend boots and long pants. Great views!
Julie • January 30, 2011Summer palace of King Kamehameha III and jis queen Kalama. Completed in 1845.
