      Gay Bar
      • New York, United States

You cannot go wrong with $2 bud pints & $3 well drinks during happy hour. The NY Gay Pool League has two teams here (I'm on Phoenix Rising). The owner's a saint and the framed old newspapers rock.

      Gay Bar
      • New York, United States

Widely considered the birthplace of the gay rights (shh, don't tell them about Julius!), this place was completely renovated and opened under new ownership after the riots, but it's a great bar.

Had our company holiday party here. Amazing views and high quality drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Can't comment on the music though because one of my coworkers DJ'ed for the night instead of their usual.

      Park

Rated the best new urban park in America, this place offers fantastic views of New York in a serene setting. Walk from Meatpacking up to the Javitts Center past some great architecture.

Come around 9:30 to 10:00 Sunday morning (entry to left of main steps) and volunteer to help feed the homeless (goes until 3ish). Rewarding work and you'll get a pretty good meal when you're done.

Very good and cheap. They don't serve alcohol but you can bring your own wine or beer. We had the egg scramble and made our own mimosas with their fresh squeezed orange juice. $50 total inc champaign.

No more weekend happy hour. Way to drive people away, guys. Especially given that I can get a drink for $2.50 less at Boots.

The Bun is OK, but I found it to be a little flavorless. The nuq mum is not as good as I've had elsewhere. Note: the workers here are all Chinese, so it's not as authentic as it could be. :-/

This is one of the coolest most diverse crowds I've ever found at a bar. This place is often nearly an even mix of straight and gay. I've met some fabulous people here including the entire staff. :-)
