In colonial days, a look-out was stationed at the NSH & Ocean (originally Jersey) intersection and from here they had a clear view to Watsons Bay. Signals was used to convey info re approaching ships.
Originally known as "Mrs Darling's Point" after the 1820s Governor's wife, Elizabeth.
