Tossed custom salads are good but pricey.
Don't confuse this with the far superior Flatiron Lounge not too far away, which is one of New York's pioneering cocktail bars.
Good rotating selection of interesting beers on tap. Good food -- the pan-roasted half chicken is wonderful, juicy and tender. When the steak is on offer, it's a great choice as well.
Smoky. Can't roll down the window when it's this cold outside.
Second time I've gotten this cab. Still has awful cigarette smell. Had to roll my window down when it's 7 degrees out!
Horrible cigarette stench. Had to keep the window open...always fun in December.
Same price as in the metro area? Not hardly. A teeny crummy refrigerator sandwich shouldn't be north of nine bucks. The average Duane Reade price for similar is $6-7.
If you sit at the 3rd floor food court, you can watch the TSA give their Freedom Gropes.
The richly complex Banker's combines the house rum blend with Irish whiskey, Port, lime and other good things.
New (Oct 2012) & gorgeous location. Well-stocked, and the prepared foods aren't bad. Cafe seating upstairs.
Check out the old-school candy store next to the lobby.
As of June 2012, they seem to have cut back on the liquor selection. They still have good stuff at good prices, but they seem to be deemphasizing non-Greek liquors and stocked much more wine.
Coffee is awful. You're better off with a soda if you need caffeination.
Egg & cheese "sandwich" is surprisingly good, but be forewarned that it comes wrapped in a big soft lavash, like a tortilla. You will almost certainly need a utensil to eat it.
Great pastries & sandwiches, friendly service, but vastly overpriced.
Great place run by a real character. Fantastic pastas, which come with good bread and great, huge, fresh salad. Inventive specials. Cash/personal check/IOUs only, no credit cards!
