- Vanessa ColinaApril 1, 2016It is gorgeous! You can take pictures of the long-tail boats with the stunning cliffs in the background. The rest of the bay is full of people. Get there at sunrise/sunset to avoid the crowd.
- Toby LuApril 8, 2018Following tour either from Krabi or Phuket will always crowded. The better choice is stay at PhiPhi Island and hire the long tail boat in the morning, then you can enjoy the peace of Maya
- NikkaJanuary 29, 2015Simply paradise on earth, as in the movie which was shot here. If you come here during day, prepare that beach will be overcrowded by hundreads of tourist having same idea as you. Nice walk in jungle.Upvoted 15 hours ago
- Nikos ZafeirisAugust 8, 2016Take a private taxi boat. Go before 8:30am and enjoy the beach alone. If the weather is bad in the morning wait until late afternoon. Apart for the money for the taxi, take money for the entrance fee.
- Richard BurkhillApril 12, 2022It is a beautiful beach and sharks can be seen if you go before 08:00. It is generally full of tourists and is, at the end of the day, a beach. Phi Phi has many others that are less touristy.
- Ahmad Ra1m1December 15, 2014Breath taking view. My boat almost leave me there because I was too busy swimming and exploring the bay. Get here early in the morning so you have a little space 2 share with hundred of tourists daily
- The Ritz-CarltonAugust 9, 2016For experienced divers, Maya Bay is a good spot to discover soft coral and marine life. This beach gets very crowded, we suggest to go early to avoid tourists.
- Mat AMay 4, 2015Beautiful secluded beach but unless you get there very early it will be seething with tourists. Unluckily when I went swimming there was jelly fish with stingers.
- Quentin LafonJuly 31, 2014Famous for the film "The beach", this is a really amazing place ! Maybe one of the most iconic in Thailand. Try to go there early to avoid the crowd.
- Robert P.March 13, 2013The film company had damaged the island's environment, since the producers bulldozed beach areas and planted palm trees to make it look like the book
- tuna fishJanuary 5, 2017A very very beautiful bay. Worth a visit. But even very early in the morning ( sunrise ) it is still very crowded.
- Benjamin 🚀September 27, 2015The famous beach in the movie "The Beach". It's not quite what you expect and absolutely ask your boat captain to try and beat the rest of the crowds. 😄🇹🇭
- Jeff WooApril 8, 2012There's no avoiding the crowds so look beyond the pasty tourists and enjoy every minute you're on this beach. It's absolutely unique at every angle!
- puromanDecember 26, 2014Nice beach, crystal-clear water, amazing view to the bay, but always crowded like in the heart of Chinatown.
- The Ritz-CarltonJune 15, 2017This pristine beach, made famous by the movie The Beach (2000), is a must see and only a short boat ride away from Phulay Bay.
- George KyriakosMarch 19, 2015Out-of-this-world beach, stunning in every respect. It gets extremely crowded so it's best to make your own way there in the morning.
- Just JourneysApril 7, 2015Maya Bay Sleep Aboad was an incredible journey and an unforgettable night. Diving with the planctons at 2am was the greatest of great moments. we could not really sleep, but that was fine
- Iata AlvesNovember 4, 2022Updated 2022: Neither speedboats nor long tails are allowed to stay at Maya Bay. with patience, you can make great photoz like you're alone at the beach!
- Sam WFebruary 24, 2014Magical still despite all the tourists if you're a fan if 'The Beach' movie and the spirit of travelling. Go through the forest behind the beach too!
- GiuliaNovember 19, 2014Fantastic place, a must see. Walk towards inside and you will see beautiful view from the back of the island.
- Onur YALNIZCAAugust 17, 2016One of the best beaches in the world and absolutely most popular one. Movie the beach was filmed here.
- Gustavo A.July 5, 2015Lovely place, the only thing is that there's a fee of 400 baht and the beach has a lot of garbage and I didn't see anyone cleaning it. Not even trash cans.
- Mariana Stuginski BarbosaOctober 15, 2014So beautiful!!!!! Come early before all the boats full@of tourists come, so you can take nice pics!
- Maarit AholaJanuary 12, 2014Beautiful. :) Only beach in Phuket where you needs to buy a entryticket (200thb) if you landing to the beach...cause of the Beach movie.
- Doug WMarch 28, 2017Great scenery but to damn crowded. Hit one of the less popular ones, they're just as nice but not like being at the mall.
- Pranav SinghApril 2, 2014Really beautiful beach. White sand, clear blue waters. Nice n secluded. Good pace to camp.
- Nadim SharbeanNovember 4, 2013If you're coming at high season (i.e. tourist season) don't get your hopes up about swimming. It's packed with tour boats. Still worth a look.
- Ron PolsonApril 12, 2023Beautiful place but Over populated tourist resort, tiny beach, too many boats and people
- So' KJanuary 4, 2016Too crowded unfortunately. Gotta do it really early in the morning with a private boat to enjoy it. But it is beautiful~
- phaliSeptember 9, 2013Exotic!! the beach movie took place here, combining a beautiful view of sand, sea, and rocky mountain

- Yoh SMMarch 10, 2014Full of people no room for movement … Still one of the best beach to enjoy the nature
- Justin ThorpNovember 15, 2013Ko Phi Phi's main island wasn't that exciting. This made up for that. Most beautiful place I've ever been.
- Irina MoonFebruary 15, 2015Its hard to find place to take picture , when it looks like there is only you there, but possible😝
- Robert P.March 13, 2013Try to avoid tours with speedboat transfer, rather choose big boat with longtail boats transfer to the unavailable places
- VladimirNovember 26, 2012U can go to this beach for free from another side of rock. In lilla lagoon.
- Chryssa LaiSeptember 25, 2010Where they filmed The Beach. Nothing to shout about. No real need to pay the 200b to access the vicinity if you go by the back way - which has a tad choppy waters, and has a more authentic feel too!
- PrincessnaKARAFebruary 27, 2011The place where the famous LEONARDO DICAPRIO's movie "THE BEACH" was taken... Great view overhere, it's breath taking view... :)
