- Leo DW8RDecember 1, 2014Maybe not as famous as La Boqueria, but this market is beautiful from the outside (check the roof) and very pleasant inside. Worth a visit!
- Oh-Barcelona.comNovember 3, 2011Barcelona’s newest market - recently renovated in 2005, the market has transformed from traditional to a contemporary and modern hub for locals and tourists alike to find delicious Spanish produce.
- Libby GarrettMarch 18, 2012A fantastic market with a mellower, more local feel than the Boquería. Closed Sundays. Open at 7:30am all other days, closing at 2pm on Mon, 3:30pm on Tue, Wed and Sat, and 8:30pm on Thu and Fri.Upvoted 4 weeks ago
- Everytime you enter with a camera to take pictures in the market a kitten dies! Please be respectul, this market (obviusly) is for buying food, don't bother locals standing and taking photos.
- Lucille FisherJune 16, 2022I prefer this market than the more touristy one (I’m sure you know what I’m talking about.) it’s real people market with all the goodies, no hype & real people prices.
- Jiri VizekMarch 16, 2017Great market try santa Catarina restaurant, great see food vine and tapas. Grilled calamari with asparagus highly recommended
- Oh-Barcelona.comFebruary 13, 2013What a roof! We love the Santa Caterina market, but we love its colourful roof just as much!
- Mary GiuffridaFebruary 16, 2018Fantastic market. Don’t miss the opportunity to have lunch at La Torna. Delicious and reasonably priced with friendly service.
- Cheen The CuriousApril 23, 2022Did u know? The original Santa Caterina Market was built in 1845. It provided the neighbourhood's blue-collar community with foodstuff. Source: Visit Barcelona

- Sophia KhavroninaMay 31, 2014Not as touristy as La Boqueria, but also less picturesque. You can have a great variety of local products including seafood, meat, oil, and etc.
- Jono HaysomApril 7, 2015If you're staying in El Born come to the markets for produce. It's open from 8am daily
- Luis NievesOctober 10, 2014Spanish food at its best. Try the paella but don't leave without tasting the fideua. Desserts are delicious too.
- John JampiMarch 31, 2018A fantastic market with Santa Catarina restaurant on the corner. More local feel than the other markets.
- Vicki KolovouMarch 4, 2017Beautiful market as most in Barcelona, it has the advantage in being in a great location.
- mafaldaqMarch 5, 2014I was a little bit disappointed by the market since I was expecting it to be more like La Boqueria. If it is closed just stroll around to take a few photos of the building and head off to La Boqueria!
- Жанна СеменоваMarch 9, 2016Buy your week storage of food here, and forget about supermarkets. Could be a bit touristy, like everything in BCN
- Apartment BarcelonaNovember 13, 2014A great place to visit if you’re looking for a more relaxed atmosphere than the likes of La Boqueria. Read more
- Miquel FeliuAugust 22, 2014Great! Fresh products, lovely people. One of the nicestes places in town!
- Oliver SearsJune 20, 2013Use the Mercats de Barcelona app for all information on Barcelona's markets - news, updates, schedules, advice etc.
- Quite in the back is "torrent" where all fruits and veggies are just a bit better. You can try before buy.
- ArnoudDJune 12, 2012Great market with delicious food, from fruits to olives, to cheese and the best spanisch jambon
- Filip GrigárekMarch 17, 2016Nice, clean market. Not to much crowded as la boqueria, but same sortiment
- Darryn van der WaltJuly 24, 2013Great market for stocking up your kitchen. Not so much for takeaway, pre-made food.
- Karisa NichollsJuly 17, 2013Definitely do your grocery shopping here if you've rented a holiday apartment. So much variety.
- SizzleMelSeptember 19, 2012I prefer this market than Boqueria. Smaller, less tourists. A couple eateries full of locals. Slows down around 1 pm.
- Piotr KNovember 10, 2015Good food does not come from frozen batches. If you like fastfood then this is your place. But really staff at McD is less miserable than here
- Johnjaysus O'MalleyOctober 31, 2011Have the pork SERIOUSLY, have #235 or #435, or #430, awe-fricking-some!
