- Benjamin ChaitDecember 15, 2014Always worth a quick hike for some misty views. Beware, lots of people and you’ll likely get wet standing near the base of the falls. But great photos and spending time outdoors makes it worthwhile!Upvoted 4 weeks ago
- Rory ParnessAugust 10, 2015Avoid the crazy traffic on east 30 by parking at the lower lot at Wahkeena Falls. Hike the ,2 miles to see Wahkeena and then enjoy the easy .5 mile hike to MultnomahUpvoted 4 days ago
- Kae ? ? ? ??? ?? ? ?July 7, 2012Multnomah Falls is The falls drops in two major steps between the two so the total height of the waterfall is conventionally given as 189 m Multnomah is the tallest waterfall in the State of Oregon
- Courtney SlabaughJune 7, 2017Breathtaking!!! This view is right behind the visitors center and the walk to the bridge is very short. Go inside the visitors center and read about the history!
- Stefani KJune 12, 2017Such a great view from the bridge, just a short hike from the bottom viewing area, but many other trails to take up to the top of you are feeling adventurous. Dog-friendly! But gets crowded!
- Nathaniel JacksonJuly 17, 2017Come early to avoid the crowd. Seeing the falls make you appreciate the awesomeness of Mother Nature!
- Priscilla LeungNovember 5, 2014The hype is real. This is only a 30-40min drive from Portland and so worth it. Go on the early side if you want to beat the crowds and don't forget to hike the trails behind the falls themselves.
- Fefanator EpicnessFebruary 9, 2016Beautiful place. I was in awe all the time I was there; the pictures look amazing. They have a cute little museum and shop, you should check that out.
- Toby LorencJune 25, 2015Totally worth the trip - the hike to the top of the falls is steep and lots of switchbacks. Harder than I thought it would be, but it's free (unless you get trapped buying something in the gift shop)
- Ian CJuly 29, 2021Make sure to buy your tickets BEFORE you get to the falls or the ticket agent. Go to recreation.gov or download the app for quick checkout.
- Jenn YFebruary 5, 2013Spectacular waterfall hike all year round. Take the hike up to the waterfall. Oh nature, you are so wonderful. So very worth the trip.
- Didi CApril 8, 2015Breathtaking. Photos just don't do it justice. Be prepared to battle the crowds though. If the lot right off I-84 is full, drive to next exit and take the scenic route back for additional parking.
- Roy BrittonDecember 3, 2016How can you not give this a great rating? Easy minimal hike, beautiful views. Let it mist on you, it was chilly but wonderful.
- Del BallSeptember 16, 2014Be Sure to visit during the week, very crowded on the weekend. There is a snack shop around the backside of the other snack vendors that serves great hot dogs, hard-to-find but is there.
- Geoffrey MoserJanuary 20, 2018Beautiful place in the Gorge! Currently (mostly) closed. But still worth the short walk and view. The trail to the top is what's closed right now.
- Ashley SamsMay 21, 2018Very sad moment realizing we couldn’t do the hike up to the top because a high schooler started a wildfire in September of 2017 with fireworks that wiped out 50,000+ acres.😡😥
- Connie ChiuAugust 4, 2016It's such a beautiful (and strenuous) hike! Multiple routes with cool waterfall air. Go early in the morning to avoid crowds.
- Al B.May 3, 2017Be sure to come here early! Avoid the crowds and tourists. Go on the bridge as well to get a nice top view. For the adventurists, go to the very top.
- Geoff ReinhardtAugust 24, 2014Go all the way to the top. Amazing view from above. Try to time your visit to sunset.
- Christina DMay 31, 2013Really incredibly beautiful falls! The hike to the top is steep and a bit challenging but worth the view. Make sure to wear good shoes, very slippery in spots.
- Alaa ShakerAugust 28, 2014Great views, beautiful photos, and you don't need to hike for any of that. It gets even better if you do. Must see if you're in the area!
- Raffy Luna-VasquezAugust 26, 2013Wear comfort clothes, hiking shoes, and of course bottle water. It takes 1 and 3/4 miles to reach the top of the falls. It is worth to see stunning view.
- Dave GAugust 23, 2011This waterfall is stunning! Another great spot to hike or jog (1 mile up the mountain to the top of the waterfall) in lieu of a gym workout. The sweat and the view is worth it...
- Tina YimOctober 19, 2016Avoid the crazy traffic on east 30 by parking at the lower lot at Wahkeena Falls. Hike the ,2 miles to see Wahkeena and then enjoy the easy .5 mile hike to Multnomah
- John KhuuJune 21, 2016Gorgeous waterfall. Weekends will get really nutty and become a tourist trap. Highly recommend at least seeing it once in your life.
- Debbie WAugust 9, 2018Finding a parking space is tough, but being patient is worth it! Beautiful and state rangers are terrific here; they’ll give you information for all the falls.
- Colin NelsonAugust 19, 2017Awesome hiking. If you're a daredevil, walk around the scenic lookout and dangle your feet over the cliff. Good luck.
- DavidFebruary 14, 2016Beautiful views and photo opps. The trail to the top is long, but it's worth hiking a little of it to see some great overlooks.
- Titus MathewAugust 18, 2013Incredibly amazing, very scenic - surprised at the crowds for a Monday. But a must see when in the Portland area.
- Mark ManchesterFebruary 17, 2020The parking lot at the lodge is always busy in peak times. Use the dedicated parking on I-84 to save time. It’s only a short walk from the falls.
- Dia JonesAugust 3, 2018The fires destroyed a lot around the Falls, but the Falls remain and are back open! The bridge is back open!!
- Sara JoyJune 29, 2017Beautiful waterfalls. Super touristy. If you're headed further out into the gorge anyways, it's right off the freeway and worth parking and checking out.
- Geetika GuptaApril 9, 2019Stunning views of the falls..gets cold in April showers..come prepared..hard to get parking space on weekends
- Samantha DeMarsJune 6, 2013Take time on your walk, it's not a long hike. Also make sure to go in any season. It's beautiful no matter what time of the year.
- Ammon CluffAugust 6, 2014Everything is good here except the crowd. Come early to avoid it. Like 7 am. Really beautiful hikes. I'll be coming back.
- RachelJuly 7, 2016This kind of beauty is rarely so accessible, so expect crowds until you get well away from the base. The whole area is gorgeous though and basically Rivendell.
- DANGER TAMSeptember 1, 2014Go park at the rest area off of I-84 and take the pedestrian underpass to get to the waterfall. An easier way to get back on the highway once you're done.
- Al B.March 3, 2016Any season, any weather, it's always worth the time and effort to enjoy the beautiful views here! Plus gift shop :P
- Tony CarollaAugust 12, 2013If you happen to be there in the early afternoon, be sure and hit up the Brunch buffet at the Lodge. Awesome selection of breakfast/lunch/seafood, etc.!
- Trina UnzickerAugust 3, 2013The hike to the bridge near the Falls is easy and worthwhile – may take you less time than finding a parking space!
- Alex SongJune 10, 2013Hike was worth it but thats just because the hike itself is pretty interesting. The view at the top is pretty crappy actually. Unfortunately you cannot see most of the falls from the top.
- Loveland LocalJanuary 15, 2013One of Oregon's most famous waterfalls, I suggest combining this with a drive up the Old Cascade Hwy and a visit to the picturesque town of Hood River.
- Trevor GridleyMay 13, 2013One of my favorite places in the world. The hike to the top, while difficult, is worth the effort. Sadly I only get to see it about twice a year. :-(
- Aysu OzgurJuly 8, 2019I mean, it was pretty I guess? Makes a good instagram photo HA. But was expecting more. Go to Iceland for some truly amazing waterfalls. Nice for a quick hike up.
- Chet ManciniJuly 24, 2015The bridge is really easy to get to and makes for some great photos, but can you climb all the switchbacks to the top?
- Leiah NhemOctober 30, 2013Great photo opportunity. Restaurant next to the falls is a nice respite and has a great view of the falls.
- Rich DiGirolamoSeptember 23, 2013This is where the sign to turn to get you to the top of the Falls should be! Don't miss the turn
- Pelin Güvenç KefelMay 9, 2018Rivendell does exist 😊 though unfortunately due to the fires the trail that leads up to the falls is closed because of dangerous conditions 😔
- When leaving, don't just get back on the freeway. Head West on the old highway for more falls and some great pictures of the Vista House and surrounding hills.
