The oldest city park in Atlanta, checkout the zoo within and the old-school Victorian homes that surround it. A favorite spot to go for a walk in the city.
Grant Park was a filming location for the AMC show The Walking Dead & shown in Season 1 Episode 1. The "bicycle girl" zombie was filmed in the park & the homes for Rick & Morgan are located nearby. Read more.
Before the tomahawk and Ted Turner- our baseball team was The Atlanta Crackers who played at Ponce de Leon Park (which is now the shopping center with Whole Foods and Petsmart)
The Ponce de Leon ballpark was home to the Atlanta Crackers, the Atlanta Black Crackers, and hosted Babe Ruth on six occasions.
