Bartenders are friendly & knowledgeable about the local area. Can't go wrong with Chargrilled oysters, gumbo & a po'boy.
Everything here is good. Loved the gumbo, boudain balls and oysters on the half shell.

If you're Cajun, but live anywhere outside of Acadiana, good gumbo is hard to find. So yeah, I'm a gumbo snob, BUT I really was impressed with Rice & Roux. It's not mom's, but it's a great substitute.

This has to be one of my fave restaurants ever. Usually order the whole menu. I am in love with the char-grilled oysters. Also get the soft shelled crab or oyster po boy, gumbo, n raw oysters.
Try an oyster shooter. Vodka, tabasco, and a raw oyster. Fun!

Great steaks, best in Baton Rouge, I love the porterhouse the most. All other entries are amazing, tamales, shrimp, gumbo and others.
All steaks are great, but I like the bone in ribeye or porterhouse myself. And try the tamales.

You must indulge in the biscuits at least once. Probably the best thing there. I've heard the Cajun-style eggs Benedict are good. All-in-all it's breakfast food, not too terribly hard to get wrong.
Fish selections (redfish and pompano) were excellent, as was chicken andouille gumbo. Added 2012 Duckhorn Migration Chardonnay.
The Hallelujah Crab is by far the best dish on the menu! Cade was awesome!

Outstanding omelettes, any omelet really and gumbo. Ate great here, very friendly staff, place is lively and noisy. You will not waste your time by coming here!
Any of the dressed hashbrowns are delicious. Get the bread pudding! They play the awesomest mix of music.
