Great rooms and free full breakfast including grits, eggs, link sausages, smoked sausages, cold cereals, corned beef hash biscuits, toast, fruits, yogurts, muffins, bagels and juices!
Dirty rooms. Two days in a row. Despite complaining. Closet door broken. For $150 a night we can do better.

The seafood gumbo is amazing, and the large bowl is huge!
If you're Cajun, but live anywhere outside of Acadiana, good gumbo is hard to find. So yeah, I'm a gumbo snob, BUT I really was impressed with Rice & Roux. It's not mom's, but it's a great substitute.
The jambalaya is awesome!
Original smoked wings are outstanding. Best in BR!

Just left this place. Can't comment on food but saw cook (bald slightly bearded) taste from the cooking spoon. And use his finger to test food that was then brought to a customer.

You must indulge in the biscuits at least once. Probably the best thing there. I've heard the Cajun-style eggs Benedict are good. All-in-all it's breakfast food, not too terribly hard to get wrong.

As a Monday customer, I usually select the red beans or white beans with rice and delicious cornbread. The Mississippi Mud pie is fabulous!
A corner sandwich shop just a block from the river, Lloyd's offers all the “only-in-Louisiana” versions. Eat like a local and get your po’ boy "dressed" with lettuce, tomato, mayo and onion. Read more.
