Lily: NYT Hungry City (7/2018): "Yellowtail with roasted jalapeño; Hokkaido scallop; botan ebi; saba gari; braised octopus; eel avocado; toro. $4.90 to $11.90."
John Dowling: Love everything about this place. Try the yellowtail with toasted jalapeño, salmon with avocado, and the Funiguchi gold or red can sake.
Elisa: It's a bit pricey compared to kazunori. Most people just grab to go & eat at the Food hall tables to save on tip. Toro was very good but at $10/piece after tax.

Carmen N: Very amazing. Homemade tofu, outstanding small plates of vegetables, high quality sushi- try the yellowtail.
DailyCandy: This comfy spot is as close to authentic Kyoto-style as you can get. Daily obanzai (tapas) is a must; the chirashi — a heaping bowl of sashimi, veggies, omelet, and rice — is one of the best around.

Julialouisegraves Graves: Amazing sushi. Extremely fresh fish. The chef puts a really creative spin on presentation but the traditional Japanese flavors are all there. I recommend the yellowtail scallion sushi bomb 😗👌.
Douglas Elliman: A hip and chic Japanese tapas bar with a two-story patio. The fish is incredibly fresh and we love the low-key atmosphere. We go crazy for the Pork Betty! It literally melts in your mouth.

BrooklynMuseum: Staff Pick! Stephanie (Education): Gen has high-quality, fresh sushi at good prices. The patio out back is a lovely spot for dining in the spring and summer. Enjoy the green or red bean ice cream.
