Built in the 30s, this was an active railway until 1980. "Friends of the High Line" formed in 1999 with the idea of turning it into an elevated park similar to the Promenade Plantée in Paris.

Cirque du Soleil was amazing! The theater is beautiful and you can see really well from every angle. The show was worth seeing and the Garden is very well kept. Great Theater experience at the MSG.

Great way to start your day is the 'Bigman Breakfast'. 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, bacon, sausage, hash browns and a coffee for $9,75 is quite a good deal.

The coffee is great, but the no laptop policy makes me grumpy.
The garden at Cafe Grumpy is one of my favorite places to read. It's small, cute, and very quiet, especially in the morning. However, it's currently 7:17am so I guess most of Manhattan is still quiet.
The fresh fish and seafood pavilion is incredible. Giant 3 1/2 lbs Maine lobster, uni, crab, you name it - they have it, fresh and delicious.

This the best theater! Everyone here is nice and friendly. Great place to see a movie.

Hedda Lettuce hosts Cinema Classics on Thursdays - get there early (there's a line!) for some truly great old movies at this fun, campy local tradition. Bonus: Rocky Horror midnight shows on weekends!
Great casual bar to watch sports, have a beer. Guys are friendly and from Chelsea and around nyc. Bar staff is super friendly! Sunday afternoons are relaxing, outdoor seats, east coast sports teams.
NYC's gay sports bar. FYI - Drinks are delicious but STRONG. Musclebear, bear, cub, older crowd mixed in with All-American Boy type - some actually there to watch sports.

Wonderful small shop with great employees-stop in for a cappuccino or enjoy a latte at the bar. Pastries are tasty, too! Love their sign outside each day.
Best small coffee shop in Chelsea. Great pulls and strong well crafted drinks. Tim is the manager. He's great and the staff are all super friendly and fun.
