Soba here is homemade, fresh, and perfect for a hot summer day. I like to add lots of toppings like enoki, roe, and uni. Get the hijiki salad and tempura to start. Yum!
Hot soba with salmon roe and crab
hot towel to start off your meal! my salmon/salmon roe don lunch set was so endearingly elegant and daintly put together. soba noodles were al dente-ly perf and the salmon made my heart and soul sing.
One of many EV Italian spots, but possible the best tasting: meatballs, scialatielli; cavatelli with spicy sausage; garganelli botarga (traditional Sicilian pasta with fish roe); tortellini con ragu.
Everything from start to finish was excellent. Had the eggplant croquettes, the meatballs, and the cavatelli.
Oxtail ravioli and black pasta... I can eat those all night.
Maitake tempura is a great addition. Continues to be one of my favorite places to eat in the city. They now deliver on Caviar too! They're also still cash only, but worth the wait.

The ankake udon is really unique and delicious. Tiny little space with a hip & minimalist decor.

Duck Lasagna is absolutely incredible. Amazing dish is very filling for two people. Make reservations. The cheeseburger is super fresh, delicious.

My go-to sushi spot in the East Village. Sit at the sushi bar and chat with Jack, the chef. He's hilarious and the high quality + unique sushi here is an amazing bang for your buck.

Try the Shanghai Noodles - Chanterelles, hearts of palm, trout roe. Awesome cold noodle dish with some nice salty flavor from the roe

Fresh oysters and amazing Omakase- great east village location
Sit at the bar and ask for the 'super omakase' (not on the menu). Chef Nobu is wonderful so sit strategically to watch him prepare and discuss the sushi!
Best sushi I ever had! The omokase sushi is worth the extra money. It is out of this world. I've been eating sushi since I was a kid and this place blows away any sushi I have ever eaten. Love it!
Try the cacio e pepe pasta, a traditional roman dish that's e excellent here. Good appetizers and wines too.
The pasta with romano and black peppercorn is the single greatest pasta dish I have ever had.
The Cacio e Pepe is great. Super cheesy though - they literally toss it in a giant wheel of pecorino at the table
