One of 2 decades-old Korean restaurants in JH, Haewoondae offers good food & fresh banchan. I always enjoy watching the ajumas & ajushis eating, drinking, talking, & arguing into the night.
Banchan was good. BBQ I thought would be cheaper. We had better and more for less in Tokyo surprisingly. Guess Sik Gaek is still reigning champ in Queens.

Been frequenting this place since it first opened up as Takari. Raw shrimp salad (with beer) is the bomb!
Good Thai with some dishes you won't find at most other restaurants, like Lao-style papaya salad and "sun-soaked pork strips," marinated pork jerky that's great with beer.

Shrimp, green papaya, basil, and mint salad very refreshing. Also enjoyed the pork with Vietnamese "angel hair" , wrapped in lettuce.

This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants around. Try the fermented eggs, the friend shrimps or the pork , salad. Yummy big portions.
