Make sure you get in the outside (right) line so you pass the juice and dairy case. Otherwise you end up going through the vitamin, tea and cat food aisle. Boring!
You can get all the essentials in the outside line - vegetables, fruit, bread, cheese, meat, dairy, juice and beer. The pro move is to bring a friend to run around for the rest while you stay in line.

Fresh sliced lox FTW. Service was a bit chaotic and slicing could have been more consistent/thinner but I think it beats Ess-a and Zucker’s in the neighborhood.
They make their martinis with fresh grapefruit juice - Kettle with a splash of fresh grapefruit juice is quite delicious. Their mushroom ravioli is exceptional - I have had it 10+ times lol.
One of the best cafes in the city all around. Lattes and the paper by day, wine and steak tartare by night, with Croque Monsieurs in the middle. Try to get a table in the nook at this 24-hr gem.
