Rich history and terrific food. A little spendy, but recommend their lemon rice, pineapple curry, king scallop starter - and the pannacotta is to die for.
Opened in 1927, Veeraswamy's is said to be the oldest surving Indian restaurant in the UK. Famous diners have included Ghandi, Charlie Chaplin, Marlon Brando and the Prince of Wales.

The Soft-Shell Crab with green chilli ginger sauce lives up to the hype. The spicy Tantanmen Ramen is also recommended. Fine but pricey food (av. £20-£25 per head for side, main & drink + service).
Aside from the noodles being delicious and filling, it's also good to leave some room for dessert. The green tea ice cream is yum!
The specials menu is worth checking out - my favourites are the shapla chicken and the deli ka honey. Service is always great, the guys who work here are wonderful.
Tip these guys well, their service is beyond brilliant. Pure class and not expensive!

Recently refurbished, The Plough is a hidden gem popular with East Sheen locals. This friendly pub features a weekly quiz, live accoustic music and quality gastro-pub food. Easy on-street parking.

The food is very good here - good choice of Thai and Japanese - the chef recommends are good (duck is ace) - friendly service and good wine list (unusual in a Thai to see one so good)

Great Indo-Chinese restaurant. The hot and sour soup was great, chilli paneer was excellent as is the American Chop Suey. If you’re going on the weekend make sure you book a table!
Best Italian is not Carluccio's, go round the corner to Olivelli. Really good lebanese&shisha at Massis and good dim sum at Cocochan. Have crepe at French Creperie.

We got the doublet cooked duck -nice and hot, not too spicy(some drie duck pieces) and the gong pau - perfect. cucumber thing - nice and fresh. And the service was professional and very friendly.

The high rating for this place is extremely deceiving. The restaurant has dry ambiance (no music), I would say lower mid range for taste, higher mid range price. Not good food. Not recommended.
The most delicious Thai I've had in ages. I had a tofu salad. It was so flavoursome, and a steal at £4.95. Very kind attentive service too, they even packaged up my leftovers.

The food was somehow good but the service was slow. Try their glazed walnuts prawns, prawn toast, chicken satay, lobster vermicelli, green prawns, lobster in ginger sauce, crispy duck, crispy beef.

As a starter, go for the glazed prawns and chicken satay and fried rice. Main course: ma mignon (see picture), and beef with oyster sauce. You will be craving Chinese food after this.
