Sit at the sushi bar in front of owner chef Saito-san. He's one of five oldest original LA sushi chefs and has been around since the Horikawa and Shibucho days. His fresh Ikura in zuke is the best.
The seabass misoyaki, dynamite (no mushrooms since I'm allergic lol) and spicy tuna roll are the best dishes here! Good portions, good price and quality fish!
Maybe not Asanebo or Sushi Sushi, but Saito san has been around one of the original five of LA sushi scene. Ample portions, good prices. BTW never let sushi linger on your plate. Eat immediately.

Getting the larger plate of truffle salmon sashimi is more worth it than getting multiple plates of the smaller salmon sashimi plate. Think Costco: cheaper in bulk.

Consistently great experience here. The chefs are talented, friendly and welcoming. The food (I've only been here for omakase) is always exceptional with creative but also traditional dishes.
Decent sushi in Santa Monica. Nothing fancy, but definitely good to satisfy a craving. All-you-can-eat lunch deal is pretty good for $20.95. Service was good.

The adventurous meal is well worth its pricey tag. Expect pristine quality seafood like live octopus, monkfish liver, and several preparations of uni. Also, maybe the best toro you've ever tried.
The esprit of Nozawa lives on at this smaller, more intimate sushi bar behind the Sugarfish in Beverly Hills, where a fixed omakase gets served with extreme precision. Quality of fish is top notch.

Go for the epic kaiseki meals here, where the appetizer plate alone features uni, snow crab wonton, cucumber with bottarga, and halibut carpaccio. Fresh fish includes kanpachi, spanish mackerel, toro.

Sashimi was cut a little thicker than I prefer but delicious none the less. I also loved the crispy rice and the budai salmon roll. Yummm
