Love their sushi rice! But this is a chain and you can expect everything that comes with that.
The Spicy tuna is wonderful. I love getting the fire cracker with a side of sushi rice. Their ramen however is very disappointing. Bland, overcooked noodles. You can really taste the tap water broth..
Happy Hour 3pm - 6pm M-F. Free Edamame. House Sake (hot) is really good. Good Sushi at really good prices.
My favorite Japanese Restaurant. Amazing Sushi-big fish/little rice (perfectly seasoned sushi rice). Great lunch specials. Japanese food done right. Tastes like my Mom made it! Owners are lovely.
Black cod was great. Can also recommend the spicy tuna on crispy rice. Don't miss out on the albacore = YUMMY. (don't order Sakura-- the house special)

Sushi bowls are great. $2.5 for a mini salad is a good deal! The sushi rice is delicious and the fish is fresh and thick.

Decent sushi in Santa Monica. Nothing fancy, but definitely good to satisfy a craving. All-you-can-eat lunch deal is pretty good for $20.95. Service was good.
The Toro tuna was to die for!! I ordered regular tuna and the chef upgraded me!! I will be back!! Very fresh!! Yummy!!

Tsukune. The best thing ever. Asparagus wrapped in bacon. Pork medallions. Mini sausages. Seaweed salad. Burdock root in some kind of amazing sauce. Pretty much everything.
The Lamb with salt (not garlic) and black cod are a must. Be sure to order an overflowing glass or two or three of kurosawa sake with your meal. I was a nanbankan addict for months!
Get a seat by the bar. Faster service and you get to watch the chefs cook up your skewers. I always get the nanbanyaki, chicken tail and lamb.
Superb. Either way - Omakase or a la carte. Get some if their unique sushi. Many fish from Japan. Home made tofu is awesome.
Do yourself a favor and sit at the bar and order an omakase. I guarantee you will not regret it. Best Japanese I've been to.
Can't tell the difference between Japanese and Santa Barbara uni? Let chef Masanori Nagano explain. Still unsure? You need to try both one more time. Just make sure to save room for seared barracuda.

Nice ambience, friendly stuff, and delicious food! Salmon chunk roll and Assi roll are my two favorite things on the menu! Hands down, Shiki sushi is by far my favorite sushi place in LA :)
