Vegeterian try the simple dish of corn tacos + refried beans + papas mexicanos (breakfast patatoes with onions, green peppers etc) + Sour cream.
This place is awesome! I come here all the time for the best Menudo an Micheladas in town. They also have great Carne Guisada. La Mexicana is centrally located and offers excellent service.

Only come for the oyster special: $7/dozen for Gulf Coast. Comes with mignonette 👍🏼. Other food is meh. Long waits during oyster season.

The plates are huge and the side dishes are also very generous. The souvlaki and kebabs are some of the popular dishes. The fries are a must, and the lentil soup is quite good, too.
Great food, large portions and fairly high prices for an order-at-the-counter place. But it's worth it.
The spinach veggie wrap w/ fresh salsa, add chicken, with a side of strawberries is amazing treat for folks you like fruits and veggies.

One of my favorite Austin places, so glad they opened up a Houston location! The Republican is delicious (if you love sausage) and so are ALL the breakfast tacos. My favorite taco place by far.
I’ve never filled up on chips. But on a particular visit to this establishment, I came pretty close.
The soda fountain includes Dublin Dr. Pepper (while it lasts) and other uncommon colas.
