Project Latte: a NYC cafe culture guide: This old school Japanese tea house occupies the gloomy downstairs level below the restaurant Kajitsu on E 39th. They prepare tea to take out, including probably the best matcha in NYC, hot or cold.
Susumu: If you hesitate to try regular macha tea or are tired of regular traditional tea, try lightly sweetened macha tea 宇治清水(Uji-shimizu). Small amount, but it was really delicious!!
Tea For Me Please: If you love matcha this is definitely the best place to go in NYC. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. They make cups to go, both hot and cold! Read more.

Michael Garod: I ordered the salmon poke, spicy. It was flavorless, save for some mayo and spice. I might as well have been eating a block of fish with spicy mayo and a side of steamed rice from chinese takeout.
Anissa: Great back area with lots of tables! Appreciate that the poke bowls come with seaweed salad!
Emily Scheer: Great fresh poke, but a little pricey. Their peanut butter milkshake is also EXCELLENT!

Jimmy Tsang: Crispy deep fried pigs ear is awesome must try
Forkit: What could be better than having Chef Morimoto crafting a zuke maguro right in front of you, not much! Don't miss the sticky ribs appetizer!
Christina Chin: Gyoza is meaty and sizzling hot, pork buns also delish. Got the small portion of tonkotsu ramen and was enough! tonkotsu was meh, broth kinda bland but char siu was so good. Prefer tokyo chix broth
Sam Gil: Salads seem best bet, nothing special. Pastrami on rye was ok. Changed so now it's only small space mainly for lunch takeaway.
Wayne Bennett: In my opinion, this location has some of the best original deli options in NYC. The fresh turkey sandwich, soups, are outstanding
Wayne Bennett: Whenever I'm in this neighborhood, I always stop in at Mendy's for their moist and warm turkey sandwich with Russian dressing and the pea soup. Oh so good! Carnegie Deli eat your heart out.
