Had a combo, spicy tuna panini and spicy black bean soup for $8! Came on a Thursday night and there was a live jazz band playing. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Hidden gem on Upper West Side with American/Mediterranean cuisine. Chicken, risotto, and codfish all delicious. Beautiful high ceilings and old fashioned decor.

Awesome, hard to find busy Old School Spanish. Great Paella, veal dishes, and the mussels are pure heaven. The waiters are in their 60s and we're not sure if they are speaking English, but who cares.
If you're cheap, get the black bean soup for $3.25. It's huge and comes with chips+sauce. It's good but not the best thing on the menu.

Burrito Box is packed at lunch. A great lunchtime value. Gigundo burritos. Try it with soy cheese or tofu sour cream t keep it extra healthy.

Start w/the Black Bean soup & Mushroom Toast. Follow that w/the Warm Smoked Salmon w/a glass of their Portuguese red wine. Not a fan of Salmon? Get the Shrimp Tagliolini w/shaved roasted ricotta. Yum!
Great place for sharing plates and ordering a couple of glasses of wine at the bar. Kale Salad and Scallops were delish.

Delicious lentil and white beans soup
A short menu of some really well made sandwiches with the best ingredients, and one of the best porchetta sandwiches on the city.
Really great sandwiches and plates. Roasted leg of lamb sandwich is my favorite. Only counter seating though. Take out or deliver.
The black bean soup and grilled shrimp salad is a perfect lunch
Shrimp and grits are great! So is the meatloaf n mashed potatoes.
After a great show or a flop, get the meatloaf!

This spot is great for vegetarians. Definitely try the Chilli Dofu, it's delicious. It's no longer BYOB, but they have cheap beer and wine.
