Absolutely amazing. Newport clam chowder is a must. Got the Brie apple bruschetta for an app (so good). I got the lobster salad roll (amazing) and my mom got the Zuppa di Clams which was also amazing.
The clam chowder is perfect and the ahi tuna appetizer is light and delicious. The big bar on the right is a great place to hang out with friendly bartenders and get some tips from the locals.
View outdoes the food - which is saying something because the clam chowder and sole are fantastic. Come here for the view, but definitely stay for food, cocktails and great service.

Sit by the fireplace in the winter. I love that this is the oldest tavern in the US. Fish was delicious, along with lobster bisque. Clam chowder isn't creamy like you would expect, more brothy.

Great price fix menu sun-thurs $19.95..had clam chowder, grilled salmon over barley risotto with a goat cheese croquette and cranberry, then creme brulee w. cookies. Also, oysters were good.

Awful place. Worst mojito I have ever had. Bloody Mary's too watered down. And this is for a 10-14 dollar drink. Carb cakes ok. Clam chowda was cold. They brought my soup salad and entree -same time
