I was visiting Chicago. I went there for a Wednesday afternoon pick-me-up. Their black coffee was the best I had. Bold & smooth. (Most coffee shops had bitter drip coffees.) Also, refills are free!
The macarons here are a MUST! Incredible pastry, incredible staff. I suggest coming early before they sell out of the pain au chocolat!
This right off Michigan Ave. gem has so much to offer from extravagant pastries to delicious sandwiches. Perfect spot to take a break from shopping and a must try for any foodie or coffee lover.

Coffee contains more aromatic and flavor compounds than wine. The good baristas here tease out the best of them. Try a shot of espresso and pourover side by side to taste what I mean.

WAAAY better than Starbucks....
They may be a bit more pricey than the other guys, but the drinks are worth it, plus they have great specials for foursquare folks- every 3rd drink free! Can't beat it!

The waiters are very kind, the food is delicious and not costly! Best place we ate during our stay in Chicago. Recommend the Chicago Old Fashion cocktail!
A little hole in the wall place...very friendly staff and good food for the price. Try the BBQ pulled pork. Very good for 7.95 in downtown chi-town.
