Had the Sammy Sonoran dog!!! Then had the carne asada tacos on flour, plus tried the bean ' cheese burrito. Everything was awesome!
The requirement when you're in Tucson is to stop here. The Sonoran dogs are a world famous original for a reason, the Carne Asada is the best in town.

Coastal Trio fish tacos were amazing! Much to my delight, I tried the blackened tilapia. The chipoltle salsa was my favorite, with a good smokey flavor and just enough heat.

Really wanted to totally slam this joint, given the horrible service, and wait staff that have the appearance of being a step away from a meth addiction program. What saves it is OK food.

There are many Mexican restaurants in Tucson but I always come back to El Sur for lunch. You cannot beat the service, great tasting food, portion size and of course the price. Excellent "dive!"
This place is amazing!!! I totally recommend this place! I am a Mexican food lover and I haven't found a place that I would return to and THIS is a place I will return to!!
Green corn tamales.... Sensational!
What's good about Omar's is the options. Hot and cold sandwiches, burgers, fish, salads and soups, classics home style items and even a lil Mexican tastes as well. Oh and the deserts too!! Stop in.
Chorizo is good, with just the right amount of spice. Try it in an omlette with green chilis
Stop here to eat, this was my Great Uncle Cliff and my Great Aunt Marian's favorite place to go Sun and Wednesnites after church for deep dish cherry cobbler and vanilla ice cream.
Tacostada with grilled chicken is fantastic! Very artful and neat arrangement of food on the plate as well.
Breakfast selections are hidden on the menu but worth finding and served all day. Try the red chile tamal and the scrambled eggs and green chile! Delicious!
Love the seca beef. Very different.
The grub is a bit gringo-y but it's delicious! And the salsa and lime buffet, oh boy! Don't miss the Sesame Soy Fish Taco!
