I loved the cheese crisps and the Tequila on the rocks! Just stopped to get a bite to eat. In my trip to Arizona, these were the best cheese crisps of my entire stay!
The carne seca is as good as advertised. I got the combo #5: carne seca, Chile relleno and a enchilada; all were excellent.
Breakfast selections are hidden on the menu but worth finding and served all day. Try the red chile tamal and the scrambled eggs and green chile! Delicious!

Chips and salsa were nothing special, but the chile relleno is fantastic. Anything with their shredded beef is also really good.

Literally anything on the menu will be great, you can't go wrong here! But get a side of the jalepenos, so delicious!
Caramelo = two tortillas + melted goat cheese + pickled onions + marinated pork = heavenly. Tortas are superb as well. The hot dogs are good, don't overdo it.

I had the enchilada combo. It was great. This is a quiet, hidden gem with great service and food.

There are many Mexican restaurants in Tucson but I always come back to El Sur for lunch. You cannot beat the service, great tasting food, portion size and of course the price. Excellent "dive!"
