An over 90-year-old bakery with some great, uncommon breads. Wine breads, ryes, and sourdoughs are very nice.

Proper Czech place from the food to beer to service, to give you an experience as close to being in the Czech Republic as you can get in the city.
Excellent goulash and of course Pilsner Urquell. Also loved the interior of the restaurant.

Did not have restaurant week menu on weekend, so pricier than planned... but definitely worth it - all the food and service and atmosphere was wonderful (even as a hotel restaurant)!!!

This UES haven offers an exceptionally tasteful pastrami platter consisting of thick juicy slices of spicy pastrami and rye bread. A bit on the $$ side but well worth it!
Oh my pants. Best pastrami I’ve had in NYC. Humble little space with a few tables and meats that will change your LIFE. Share a hot pastrami sandwich with a friend - it’s more filling than it looks.
Pastrami is the specialty here, pricey at $17 for a sandwich, but it might be the best of its kind on the Upper East Side.
