Go for the jazz festival! Great music and food
I'm a volunteer for the jazz festival
This is a great place for a stroll and a wonderful place to catch the ferry too. Basketball courts looked pretty full with lots of pickup games and a nice playground for the kids.
The lobby rocks in the evening! Dance jazz accompanied by oysters & sashimi platter :) Spacious modern rooms, too. And the breakfast is worth each of 40 bucks it costs.

If you plan to stay here, be sure to book a harbour view room. Classic vistas of Stanley Park, Burrard Inlet and the mountains to the north. This is the Vancouver of the tourist brochures.
Apple custard dessert - great Would prefer to listen to some soft jazz rather than oldies. Good service.

We had the veal parmigiana and lamb shanks the first is impossible to get where we live now and it was excellent.

Drink and eat in warm, cosy surroundings watching live jazz and being served by friendly, witty staff. So welcoming, cannot fault this place.
If you have a little room left after your main, then have a chocolate mousse, delicious, you won't regret it!

In addition to the x-cite menu they've kept the old El Barrio menu! So you can still order your Mexican favorites!
Definitely the Royal Milk Tea Latte and Almond cheesecake. They also gave customers a small cheesecake treat to commemorate the Cafe's anniversary :) great service, with jazz music to boot!
Recommend the sukiyaki rice burger with miso soup and salad yummy !

Standard and unusual cocktails as well as a great wine list. Good service and a chatty vibe. Breezy in summer, cozy in winter.
One of the best wine bars I've visited in Vancouver; relaxed atmosphere not too pretentious. Great Italian restaurant next door; perfect location to catch a show at Orpheum or Vogue after.

"Happy hour" from 3-5 a selection of tapas at $10, meatballs were delicious! Patio seating needs a revamp but the location is great.
