The principal chapters of the town’s history are collected in the Museum of the City and Castle housed, within the walls of Piombino Castle; one of the ancient town’s oldest surviving monuments.
From here, if you are sportive enough, don’t miss “Buca delle Fate” cove. You arrive here by a path through the wood (ca 30 min). To reach this pathway take the road which leads Baratti to Populonia.
After a cultural visit in the Archaeological area, don’t miss the beautiful Baratti Beach, close to a huge pinewood: the ideal place to have a picnic!
