There is usually a huge map of Iceland on the ground floor where you can walk around Iceland in 5 minutes.

Definitely take the path behind the waterfall – exhilarating! Expect to get wet. Start from the right – a little easier climb. And be careful: The whole path can get pretty slippery.
The lamb soup is most excellent. Just the thing after a very chilly walk. Free refills from the very friendly locals.
Check out Kirkjugólf. It's not as spectacular as many other attractions in the South but easy to get to and a great excuse to leave the car and stretch your legs.
