G McBAugust 22, 2015The hike up the mountain is somewhat strenuous in places but still a quick hike. It took us 37 minutes with a few rests in between to take in the surrounding views. Take the skylift!

- The Ritz-CarltonMarch 25, 2016Whether you hike or take the cable car, get the best views of Atlanta from the top of Stone Mountain. Look southwest for grand views of Atlanta and north to where the Blue Ridge Mountain range begins.
Buy the annual pass. Hike up the mtn. It is windy on top so wear appropriate clothes. Do NOT try to hike when it's raining/sprinkling. It gets SOO slippery. ThelocaltripperJanuary 30, 2017This is just a 30 min drive from downtown Atlanta! What an awesome place, full of activities that you probably won't be able to do in one day. Great place for pictures and I spotted some deers!
You can hike the mountain or go around it, either is a good workout. Beautiful trails and lake and lots to do. Get there early for parking.

If you're in the Atlanta area, this is definitely a great place to check out. Created a scenic 7.6 mile loop around the mountain today, Left out of walk up parking lot, Right on road to evergreen, Left @ the main entrance, Left @ Plantation Road, Right back to walk up lot. :)
