CharlesNovember 11, 2013The Eads Bridge was the longest in the world, and the first arched steel truss bridge, when completed on July 4, 1874. The last spike was driven in by General William Tecumseh Sherman.
Kevin SpearJune 30, 2013Great pedestrian walk to jog. However, if you jog into Illinois, there isn't much beyond the casino when you crossed. It's best to jog back and enjoy the view of the Gateway Arch.

The bridge is named for its designer and builder, James B. Eads. When completed in 1874, the Eads Bridge was the longest arch bridge in the world, with an overall length of 6,442 feet (1,964 m).
