Jogjakarta ambience is really strong here. You can find both trad market & also modern market. You can bargain the price in some outlets. Various kinds of batik, can find very cheap price for batik.

Great for shopping but remember to bargain hard. Evenings are better with street performers, singers and dancers. Eat good food at the roadside stalls across the road. All in all, a happening place.

In this road, you can find so many souvenirs of Yogyakarta, food stall, even Malioboro Mall and Pasar Bringharjo to buy some batik. Around 5PM, you can find street artist that play some music.

Forget the big hotels at main streets in this area, do walk into the narrow alleys to see a clean neigbourhood, many old houses for rent or homestay, shops, cafe etc. It will give you some experience.
