- Sam GrSeptember 18, 2012The coolest park in Seattle. Watch the sunset over the Olympics. Take a 3-mile loop hike that feels like you're in the rainforest. Head to the beach and lighthouse if you have time.Upvoted 1 week ago
- HISTORYApril 12, 2010Although the park has a beach it's not a prime spot for swimming as the water's cold & the beach rocky. One trail extends to Puget Sound & after a lengthy walk you'll find a lighthouse and tide pools.
- Walk the loop! It's got great views. If you don't have a dog with you, head downtown one of the beaches - it's gorgeous, and the trip adds about 30 flights of stairs to your excursion.
- TrupanionJuly 26, 2011Discovery park is located on the historic grounds of Fort Lawton. It is 534 acres with nearly 12 miles of hiking and walking trails for you and your dog to explore. Please bring a leash and poo bags!
- Caroline LMay 11, 2016Trails in the middle the city make it feel like you are out in the woods. Took the trail all the way down to the beach.
- Ricardo HernandezMay 31, 2016My favorite park in Seattle. Come here in an early Sunday morning and get lost in any of its trails.

- Ricardo HernandezApril 21, 2016A very quiet park in comparison with all others in Seattle. Beautiful views of Puget Sound. Great place for a summer picnic.
- Timbuk2May 9, 2013Get lost and find your way back. Head out during low tide and explore the beach. If in season, salmon berries are delish (if you like it tart + sour).
- Nicole GuariniMay 5, 2019Park at the south parking lot and walk to the center field to let dogs run around. Follow multiple trails down to the beach!
- Sea otters hang out in the rocks along the north beach trail. If you're lucky, you might see them!
- TruthorDare.usNovember 13, 2012We dare you to take the best possible picture of yourself with the Olympic Mountain behind you in the background, then find the closest active sand dune and try to build a sand castle.
- One of the best places for a trail run, hike, or a bike ride then head off to the North Beach Trail for a swim..
- Robby DelawareJuly 28, 2012Little known fact about this park: During WWII it housed Italian prisoners of war. There was a controversial riot between African American prison guards and the Italian POWs.
- SELF MagazineAugust 12, 2013Although it can get pretty chilly, this park is rarely over-crowded and perfect for a romantic date!

- Dr. Kenneth NoisewaterMay 24, 2012In the summer, sit on a bluff and watch as all the cruise ships leave for Alaska between between 4 and 6pm
- Pelin Güvenç KefelDecember 26, 2018This park is huge! But a great place to go hiking without having to drive too far
- Lolo S.August 29, 2014Walk on the beach and explore the shoreline at low tide: sea anemones, shells, driftwood, shore birds.
- Silent StormOctober 3, 2011Park at visitor center. Walk down past the north lot to the south beach and up back through hidden trail. Will take about 1.5 hrs.
- Keep your eye out for bald eagles on the south beach trail. They like to hang out in the wooded area overlooking the sound.
- John PorterFebruary 13, 2010A great place to watch the sunset and walk your dogs on-leash. The main loop definitely gets crowded when the weather is warm and/dry.
