Scott KleinbergJuly 4, 2013Gorgeous bridge and view. Never take the lower level - you'll miss it. Be careful on the Brooklyn side: those s-curves to the Belt Parkway are crazy busy sometimes.

The bridge is affected by weather more than any other bridge in the city due to its size and isolated location close to the open ocean. Beautiful streamlined bridge. Love seeing it from a distance. Watched it being built and drove over it the day it opened to the public.
Take the upper level... the bottom level is full of potholes and a very rough ride

Darline SotoOctober 7, 2016Nothing about this bridge is good. Every time I go into Staten Island 15 dollar toll and they are planning to hike it up again?!?! Are you kidding? With the money it makes they can't even paint it?
If you're headed towards Belt Parkway from Staten Island stick to the lower level. Far less traffic.
When it's windy don't drive across the top portion.
It's always great too have ez pass ~ you can avoid the long lines

Bridge toll for cars is now $13.00 when traveling from Brooklyn to Staten Island.No charge from Staten Island to Brooklyn.
